Terms of use
Last updated: 16 October 2026
These terms apply when you use beehints.com. BeeHints is run by Muhammad Afzaal Afzal (details in the legal notice). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. What BeeHints offers
BeeHints is a free, independent fan site. It offers daily hints and answers for the New York Times Spelling Bee, a free unlimited word game and a solver. You do not need an account, and we do not charge for anything.
2. Acceptable use
Please use BeeHints as a person playing or looking for hints. You may not:
- use bots, scrapers, crawlers or other automated means to copy hints, answers, word lists or other content (search engines indexing public pages are welcome);
- resell, republish or offer our content as part of another product or service;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the site or its servers;
- use the site for anything unlawful.
You are welcome to share links to our pages and to tell friends about a hint. We may block access that breaks these rules.
3. Our content
The BeeHints name and logo, the design, the hints and other texts we write, and the code belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may not copy the site or large parts of it, or present it as your own. Puzzle answers are facts that we compile for players; our selection, hints and wording are our own work.
The short word clues are the exception: they are adapted from Wiktionary definitions and, like the originals, are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license (CC BY-SA 4.0).
BeeHints is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by The New York Times Company. Spelling Bee is a puzzle published by The New York Times.
4. Word lists, answers and solver results
We do our best to keep hints, answers and word lists accurate, but they may contain errors, and the official puzzle uses its own word list. We cannot promise that a word our game or solver accepts or suggests is accepted by the official puzzle or any other game, or that a list is complete. Word clues come partly from a public dictionary service and may be wrong or incomplete.
5. Availability and changes to the service
BeeHints is free and offered as it is. We may change, pause or end features or the whole site at any time. We try to post hints every day and keep the site running, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors.
6. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) applies. For slight negligence we are only liable if we break an obligation that is essential for using the service and on which you may regularly rely (a cardinal obligation, Kardinalpflicht), and then only for typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise our liability for slight negligence is excluded. Because the service is free, the statutory rules on gifts also apply (section 521 of the German Civil Code, BGB). These limits also apply to the personal liability of anyone acting for us.
7. Links to other sites
We link to other websites, such as our social profiles. Their owners are responsible for their content and their own terms apply there. See the disclaimer.
8. Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you use BeeHints as a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
9. Consumer dispute resolution
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (section 36 of the German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act, VSBG).
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes apply from the time they are published here.
