Why play unlimited puzzles?
The official daily puzzle limits how far you can play without a subscription, and its archive is for subscribers. BeeHints Unlimited gives you full puzzles for free, any time, so you can practice the habits that get you to Genius: spotting common endings, building long words from short ones and hunting the pangram first.
For today's official puzzle, our daily hints nudge you one step at a time, and the tips guide collects twelve strategies that work in both.
Questions and answers
Is this the real Spelling Bee?
No. BeeHints Unlimited is our own free word game that plays by the same simple rules: seven letters, one center letter, words of four letters or more. The official puzzle is published once a day by The New York Times.
Can I play Spelling Bee unlimited for free?
Yes. Every puzzle here is free, with no account and no limit. Press New puzzle for another one at any time; there are more than 10,000.
How is it scored?
Four-letter words score 1 point, longer words score 1 point per letter, and a pangram (a word using all seven letters) earns 7 bonus points. Ranks go from Beginner to Genius at 70% of the points, and Queen Bee when you find every word.
Why was my word rejected?
Unlimited puzzles use a list of everyday English words built from the ENABLE and SCOWL word lists, so very rare words, proper nouns and offensive words are left out. Every puzzle avoids the letter S, just like the daily puzzle.
Can I challenge a friend?
Yes. Press Challenge to share a link to the exact puzzle you are playing, with your score but none of your words. Your friend opens the same letters and can try to beat you.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in this browser only. Your found words for your last 60 puzzles stay saved, so you can come back later. Nothing is sent to our servers.
